New SharePoint Classes for ACC

Arapahoe Community College, located in Littleton, CO., will be added three new courses to their summer line up.

Administrating Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.

This course is the same as the current offering. It will teach the student how to install and administer WSS and MOSS. End User operations will also be taught. This course is designed to help the student pass Microsoft exams 70-630 and 70-631. The student will understand how to set up their environments, select the appropriate install, and set up advanced operations like Search and the Business Data Catalog. There are no pre-reqs for this course. Everything will be addressed by the instructor.


Introduction To SharePoint

This course will address end user functions. The student is not required to have any previous knowledge. We will cover creating and working with list, libraries, surveys, work flows and sites. The student will learn how to secure their site with users from Active Directory or their local machine. We will also address the various web parts that are available and discuss SharePoint best practices.



Customizing SharePoint with SharePoint Designer (Non-Developer)

This course requires a previous understanding of SharePoint. CIS 275 or CIS (Intro) are strongly encouraged. The student will learn how to make customization to their SharePoint environment using SharePoint Designer. The student will learn how to create and modify web pages. We will cover creating and working with list, libraries, data views, data sources, master pages, work flows using SharePoint Designer.
